CANNON HILL

Located directly across from the town at the end of the county bridge.  The hill was fortified during the Civil War and was used to protect the main line of the B & O Railroad.  The site is under construction; however, guided tours can be arranged by appointment. COOL SPRINGS PARK

Cool Springs Park- Open year round as a restaurant, general store and gift shop. The restaurant serves Buckwheat cakes all day long with the famous footlong hotdogs. The park includes an antique farm and railroad equipment, unusual animals, a large water wheel, fish ponds and picnic tables. Open daily from 6:30am to 11:00pm. GREATEST GENERATION WWII MUSEUM

THE GREATEST GENERATION WORLD WAR II MUSEUM is a unique exhibit worth visiting. You will be surprised by the authenthic war time scenes with soldiers and many artifacts from both Allied and Axis. Located in the Szilagyi Center (old high school). Open May through October on Saturday from 11am - 5pm and on Sunday from 1pm - 5pm or by appointment. Groups and tour buses welcome. OX ROAST-LABOR CELEBRATION

This is Rowlesburg's modern day Claim to Fame and visitors come from all corners of theUSA to partake in a gastronomic treat found only in the Cheat River Valley.The Park crew lights the barbecue pit fire on Sunday night so that the ox roasts slowly to a moist, melt-in-your mouth tenderness. The fire is tended all night to make sure your portion is of the high quality you expect. In addition to great food, there will be a carnival, music and other entertainment, plus a finale of fireworks from Cannon Hill over the river.
